The 14th Annual Antiques & Collectibles Show for the benefit of the Foundation for the North Penn United Way will open its doors on Friday, January 22, 2010 from noon-8pm and on Saturday, January 23, 2010 from 10am-4pm. Held at the Alderfer Auction Center, 501 Fairgrounds Road, Hatfield, the show has become a January tradition for the North Penn/Indian Valley area.

There will be more than 35 antique dealers displaying their unique antiques and collectibles featuring, among other things, Depression glass, ephemera, art, clothing, pottery, silver, china, and jewelry. With a wide variety of dealers, there is sure to be something for everyone.

This year, there will be a special exhibit of local theatre “vintage costumes”. From Dracula’s cape, Victorian finery, and the tartans of Macbeth, to the crocodile head used in Peter Pan. Come take a stroll into the spotlight of local costume design and execution. “Sometimes, local theatres use actual vintage clothing for a production, but other times, they use ingenuity and creativity to recreate the look of the past,” said Deb Takes, Chairman of the Antique Show, “We thought our guests might enjoy taking a look at how theatres go about creating the illusion.”

The admission charge is $5/person and all gate receipts are for the benefit of the Foundation for the North Penn United Way. For more information contact the North Penn United Way at 215-855-3002.
